Tea, Tourism & Football is the Main Focus for Hill Development: Binoy Tamang

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 20^th November, 2018: Today in an interactive session organized by CII North Bengal, Mr. Binoy Tamang, Board of Administrator, Gorkhaland Territorial Administration informed the media that the GTA Chairman’s Gold Cup is going to start from December to bring back the glory of sports in Hills. He also said that 16 clubs all over the country are going to participate in the tournament. Further, Mr. Tamang also pointed out that Tea, Tourism & Football are the main focus for development in Hills and heartily invited the industrialist to invest in Darjeeling &Kalimpong district for the growth of Hills. In this occasion the past Chairman CII, North Bengal Mr. Prabir Kumar Seal was also present. He spoke about promoting tea tourism in a systematic and eco-friendly manner without affecting tea cultivation and other related activities & informed the house about DESTINATION EAST 2019, where CII is planning to take international tour operators, travel writers to Hills from 16 January. Earlier, Mr Kamal Kishore Tewari, Chairman, CII North Bengal said Darjeeling and Kalimpong hills are in needs of Sustainable development processes andCII as a part of the Hill Business Coordination Committee has been working closely for the development of Darjeeling &Kalimpong districts. Mr Naresh Agarwal, Past Chairman, CII North Bengal informed the media that CII – GTA Multi Skill Centre Development Centre at Darjeeling is a pioneering model at the district level where GTA would be providing infrastructure, where CII would be monitoring the execution and ensure the placement of 70% of the trainees which will generate employment and development in the hills.
